Go Go Go Julia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight was the last night of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and it was a very well done show with a young cast. The sets were amazing, and all built at school, with the exception of a French Cafe backdrop for "Those Canaan Days". Joseph was quite good, which helped of course, and the narrator was pretty good, but with a limited range. For all the high notes, she dropped down a third("We all dream a lot," but not the high note for lot, which really bugged me) Anyhow, the pit was really good, and drove the whole show. Remember, there is no dialog, so the pit is playing for the entire show. I was very proud of Julia and Leslie and Libby and Hannah Grade for doing their part. This picture was displayed with the other pit-sters in the lobby. As we all know, the show would be nothing without the PIT!!! You girls rule!

We Missed You This Morning!

Dear Chrissie,
You are looking so much better. Wondering if you have been using the computer too much, because your fingers are starting to show some wear. Just wanted you to know that we are glad you are better, and back(no pun intended) to your old self!

Any advise?

After almost two weeks of doctor visit, 3 acupuncture treatments, lots of heating pads and lying down, I'm feeling very frustrated. I had someone take a picture of my back at work. Do you think I should go see a specialist?

ONE MORE. . .

ONE MORE PICTURE OF THE BIRTHDAY GIRL!

This is the infamous swimming day. You can see how much fun Carolyn and I were having before the Konkol paparazzi scared us off with his video camera, and I had to dive into the water to get away! I'm sure EVERYONE remembers that paused shot!!! I much prefer to remember this side of me in a bikini!! What a sweet little swimmer. HAPPY TIMES!

The Original Little Miss Sunshine

What a happy day that was 31 years ago today...I was home for spring break from the University of Tennessee . I was sitting on the living room couch at 523 Henry Clay watching Days of our Lives with Betsy and Grandma(probably something about Roman or Marlena having amnesia after being drugged by Stefano) when we heard the news. I think John and Chrissie were at school? I lost my mind and started jumping on the couch like Tom Cruise. We were all so happy, and excited and relieved, because it had been a long nervous time waiting. There must be a connection to why you have an interest in watching Days! You gave us so much joy, Carolyn, and you continue to do the same. Have a wonderful day, and know how much you are loved!

P.S. The dress is the one that Don and I gave you for Christmas,1977. This picture is at our upper flat in Shorewood on Christmas Eve, the night we premiered the Carolyn Caroleers tape. One of the happiest Christmases ever. Also, thanks for letting Lindsay borrow the dress for her 18th month picture!

Happy Birthday to THE Girl Who Made Us All Aunts

Dearest Din Din Jo Jo,

Our lives were forever changed that March afternoon in 1976. I hope you have a wonderful, stress free birthday full of RAINBOWS and the pots of gold at the end.

Now that you are a teacher I was wondering if you ever say to your kids..."Well, you just have a teacher who says TOO BAD!!!"

I bet you have never said it...it must have been Don Cork!!!!!

Have a wonderful Day!!! Love you!!!

She's Finally Out of Her Cocoon!

Can you say metamorphosis five times fast?! What an amazing, multifaceted woman you have become. Yet in so many ways, you're the same, inquisitive, positive, strong, compassionate person that you were as a baby. Our lives were changed forever when you were born, and we wouldn't change a minute of it. (well, maybe a couple minutes, but that's it!)
Happy 25th to the girl that transformed me from a woman to a mom! I love you, Linds.
Can't wait to celebrate in person with you!
p.s. Notice how the hair falls the same way in both pictures? Ooh, how lovely!

Everything good must come to an end....

It's been awhile since I last post something here. Life has been a bit chaotic for me lately...

And now everything good must come to an end...
I figured everyone would find out eventually so I figured I would let you all know now. Friday afternoon I was laid off due to company downsizing. It was a bit unexpected. I was most upset about the fact that I was not able to properly say good bye to my coworkers with whom I have gotten close to and considered a part of my family over the past two years. Now that I have had a day or two to think about all of this and let everything sink in, I have realized that being let go was a blessing in disguise. God can definitely work in mysterious way sometimes... I had been unhappy in my job for quite some time now...I was underpaid, had a lack of work, I felt ignored by my manager(s) and the list goes on and on. Proven Direct (the company I worked for) is having financial hardships and aren't willing to admit, so in a way I guess I am glad that I don't work there anymore... So now I have all the time in the world to work and concentrate fully on finding a new and much, much better job. So wish me lots of luck in finding a new job.

On a happier note, the weather seems to be getting warmer and more beautiful. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hugs and love to everyone!!

I Finally Downloaded It!

After many attempts to obtain this scan from my computer, I succeeded. Yay! Here is the other notice that was hanging on the bulletin boards around campus for Jesse's recital. Interesting young man.(and woman) As Lindsay was known to say, "KINDA SCARY!!"

#12 is no longer in my mouth : (

Hi Everyone,

I'm up at 3:30 a.m. because my mouth hurts. You see, I had my tooth extracted yesterday. The generic vicadin should kick in any moment. The bad news is I look like a witch...the good news is that the horrible infection that was eating away at the bone in my gums is gone.

Perhaps this is the final step to that will lift my depression to a point where I can find energy to keep up with my house work.

Implant or Bridge??? the next hurdle!!!

Love, Betsy

UPDATE: partied, hearty!

So the morning after I wrote that post Ben woke up feeling good, no fever. Stayed home from work again just to make sure, but by mid-afternoon we were out getting lunch and running errands, and so we had the party after all, after I asked Ben one million times if he was sure he was feeling well enough to have all kinds of people around. Having the party was the right decision; it was a big hit, lots of people. It was a little weird because some friends I rarely see made it to the party, including Russell and Anna in from the suburbs! But none of my everyday friends that I spend most of my time with showed up. Only one person from the OTS made it, and she's not even someone I know very well. In any case, we had a good time and so did everyone who came. We were thrilled to have a good party happening, right in our own little house!

We're leaving tomorrow night for London. I am super excited!

too good to be true

Today my coworker agreed to take over my Sunday shifts, permanently. That would mean that for the first time in 3 years I would have full weekends free like a normal person. Of course I would still do kids parties, which are the reason I would be able to lose my Sunday shift in the first place. I'm getting asked to do a lot of them and as long as I have at least 2 a month I cover what I would be making on Sundays. If I didn't have to turn down all the Sunday ones, I'd probably come out on top. And my coworker is always looking to pick up work, so it was going to be great for both of us. I was very excited. Then I got an email from our boss saying that it's not going to work out because it would give him too many regular shifts. Total bummer.

Tomorrow night we have big plans for a joint birthday party for me and Ben. We're both turning 25 this month and this is supposed to be the big 50th birthday bash. Get it? We have invited a ton of people to our tiny house. I've been really excited about it since I love throwing parties and we could never have one in our old place. We talked a little about having a joint party two years ago which we then decided not to do after a big fight. Then I was going to have a birthday party at my friend's place and he ended up cancelling at the last minute. Last year we didn't even try to have a party and our birthdays didn't run so smoothly. This was gonna be the year.

Ben has been home for two days with the flu. He still had a fever when he went to bed tonight. Even if he's feeling better tomorrow.... Should we call off the party? He didn't have a fever for most of the day and then it came back around 4 today. If he has a fever in the morning how long should we wait to start calling people? If he doesn't have one tomorrow, and is feeling better.... Should we still have our friends over to our house? If I try to disinfect everything.... If he's better by lunchtime, by afternoon....

It would be really bad if he is sick in London. It will also be really bad if I am sick in London. I know he should really lie low. I probably should too, but I was so excited for this party. I have tried hard to help Ben get better. I bought him lots of soup and tea and ecchinacea and zinc and vitamin C, and I changed the sheets, and I set up the humidifier, and I drove him to the doctor during my break at work. I even gave him my jingle bells to ring when I went upstairs. I hope he feels better soon.

The last time Ben was sick with a fever was when he had walking pneumonia.... at my college graduation. Something about parties for me seems to sicken him I guess. In all seriousness, I know he feels terrible and it's not his fault, but man, what a drag.

WOW!!!!!!!!

WOW,that's all I kept thinking on Sunday. Jesse is a senior, and really made a mark on the music scene at Lawrence Conservatory. Not only was it well planned, prepared, and orchestrated, it was done with such professionalism. Jess, you were a master on Saturday night, and you did it your way.(good title for a song?) We all were so proud to be related to you. We all had a blast, as well as everyone else present. Thank you for all that you did, and all that you are!

The Bozemans said that Jesse's recital had the largest turnout that they had ever seen. Normally, the food service prepares for 50 people. Well, due to the numbers coming from out of town, I requested for 100, and they ran out of plates! I guess that kinda sums up Jesse's appeal!

Thanks to all of you for the ways that you supported us:

Kathy and Dave: for taking charge of the chocolate fountain, including Dave's last minute scrambles to the library, food service and dorm in search of a microwave to melt the chocolate that wasn't cooperating! It was the hit of the day, (besides Jesse) Also for giving Martha Stoner a ride!

Betsy: for giving Mom and Dad a ride, and making sure that Mom was taken care of.

Debbie and Ron: The flowers were so beautiful! I'm sorry that we forgot the vase for displaying them. It was very thoughtful. Ronnie, the photo album is great! Thanks for your diligence! There were some shots that we never would have noticed in the hubbub of the reception. Deb, thanks for uploading them for all to see!

Chrissie, Debbie, Betsy and Kathy, the bars were outstanding! It really made the reception perfect. They were all so different, and all so yummy!

Most of all, on behalf of Jesse and all of us, thank you for taking the time to make it all the up to Appleton to make Jesse's (and our) day one to remember for the rest of our lives!
