What's up??

Hi all! Life is a little bit back to normal after Nadja returned to Germany. She has emailed us to thank us again and say that it is nice to be back with her family and friends. Last week was a difficult week as we learned that a classmate of Bradley's, who was not a close friend but was in the play that is in rehearsal now, ended his own life by hanging. It was a difficult time, especially because school was not in session, but the world of IM and email was a big help in keeping Bradley connected with his friends. He went to the memorial service with his friend Adam and Adam's dad, and he was glad that he did. Never could I imagine as a parent having to deal with this with a 13 year old! Apparently this boy had years of therapy and treatment, but was bipolar and he just couldn't cope. It is so terribly sad. We are all appreciating each other a great deal right now.
I've got to go now, but just wanted to touch base with everyone, and assure Betsy that someone is still reading the blog and blogging, too! Hope to see you all soon!

BOOOOO!! Did I scare you with this blog??

In case you haven't heard...I have Costochondritis!! It's a pain in the neck. Actually it's a little lower. Have fun tonight!!! I'll be at the Pabst Theater seeing Brian Ash in the Capitol Steps. My ribs/chest are really going to hurt after all the laughing!!! Wish you all could be there too!!

What are you all on Halloween?

Ryan is Brett Favre. Maggie is either a beautiful "no name" princess with an expensive American Girl dress or is a midievil princess in a cheap-o costume i got the day after Halloween at Target last year. Pat & I are going as frazzled parents trying to do everything...incuding a comedy show on Halloween. Thanks to Lefevre's, Klossowski's, and Weinberg's generosity...we can go to our show...and the kids get to trick or treat with their friends!!

Love you guys...EVEN THOUGH YOU NEVER BLOG!!!

Love,
BOOTSILLA

ALSO IN HONOR OF FRITZTINO'S BIRTHDAY. . .

I had a 3 hour emergency (as in I couldn't stand it so they let me in just to stop the whining) ROOT CANAL! I even had to leave work, but not until I had starred as the Witch in our Teacher Play at school . . . THE BIG PUMPKIN. Oh it was a sight to be hold. . . especially the part where I was screaming with pain because of my tooth. For the record, furthest molar on the upper right - real easy to get to. . . my mouth was WIDE open for 3 hours. . . I wonder what Don would say right now if he read this. . . .

And if any of you were wondering, If and when you go to an endodontist and the Root Canal proceedure takes 3 hours, IF you find that you have to go to the bathroom and even though they have 8 million tools in your mouth, your whole mouth is encased in plastic and clamps and is completely numb, and there are 3 people working on you at once, they will let you get up and go with no difficulty! Believe me it took sheer desperation to get up the nerve to say. . . "Ah ha hu ho hu a hahoom". AND THEY KNEW WHAT I MEANT!

Soon the novacaine will wear off. . . . oh those sweet hours before the throbbing.

So, I hope that Chrissie's Birthday was much less traumatic than the Kelnhofers and the Konkols. Did you get any good presents?

Much love to Chrissie, that beautiful little girl with the PERFECT eyebrows!

Deboe Blue Jean Witch.

Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh,da,duh duh TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY . . duh, duh, duh, duh, da da, duh duh.

Talk amongst ourselves

to you

Happy Birthday Chrissie!!

Hope you're having a beautiful fun day. It's a little overcast but cool and crisp in Chicago; I hope you got to spend a little time outside being Autumnal. I also hope that you get to eat special things you like the most and that lots of people sing you songs and treat you fancily.

You're great! Happy birthday!! Love you!

Happy Birthday Fritztino!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey BeChrissie!! Congratulations on the anniversary of your birth. You are a wonderful addition to the world and I'm very thankful to Carl, Peggy and God for bringing you into our family!!!

In honor of your birthday, Ryan and I went to get his picture taken for you. Well, actually it's a picture of his finger. Well, actually, it's an X-Ray of his finger. You see, on Wednesday he was playing football during lunch recess, and in Ryan's attempt to do an amazing Donald Driver catch...He jammed his finger REALLY BAD. Both knuckles swelled up badly. Since his mother is nursing a jammed finger from playing football...She assured Ryan that jammed fingers really hurt...And that it probably wasn't broken. Took him to the doctor the next day. He said that the fact that both knuckled were jammed implied that the force was strong enough to produce a fracture and that we should get an x-ray to be sure.

Well, it's 2 days after the injury and...there is a small "hair line fracture" near the middle knuckle. He has a splint on it now. We can just "buddy tape" it to the middle finger so he can still play soccer if he wants to.

Ryan is SO happy that he has officially broken his finger. He was SO happy that there was time to go back to school and show off his finger. His world is really looking up!!

2006 for the Kelnhofers: The Year of the BREAKS!!! (Betsy - Heal, Pat - Hip, Ryan - pointer finger on his right hand, Maggie - currently being wrapped in bubble wrap to avoid the same fate!!)

In the words of Ryan as we pulled up to the school after our adventure, "What a beautiful Fall day!!" and it is!!

Simons move...Heinemanns Closes

Have you all heard?? Heinemanns on Silver Spring is closing. It appears that they were not able to stay in business without Mom & Dad's frequent visits.

(Actually, I guess it's because they weren't willing to sign a lease.)

Mom and Dad move out of Whitefish Bay...and after 50+ years Heinemanns is closing its doors.

Coincidence??? I DON'T THINK SO....

Only 10 Minutes to get to BLOG . . IS THAT RIGHT?

I Posted this as a comment too, because it took SO LONG to download the BLOG thing. AS SOON AS I POSTED THE COMMENT, it was done though. OF COURSE.

Hi Everyone,

I got to connect with Leslie and Nadja and Hannah on State St. yesterday! What fun kids with wonderful friends too. I had a great time AND I finally got to pick up my campaign lawn signs. I also had a happy/strange/nostalgic memory of the time Joannie and I strolled down State Street buying WIGS! And it WASN'T for Halloween!

Love ya all and THANKYOU to Leslie for sharing her friends with me,
Deebs

P.S. LESLLIE, WHY DIDN'T WE TAKE A PICTURE?

Guten Tag!

This is Nadja, Leslie's exchange student from Fulda, Germany. We are having a fun time learning to communicate and learning how our two cultures are very much alike, and yet there are also many differences, like no bagels in Germany!!!! These 2-1/2 weeks will go very quickly, I'm afraid. See ya!

I know that bragging is wrong, but.......

The game of the Anacondas vs. The Dragons on Sunday October 1st, was a fight to the finish. In the first half, goalie, #10 Ryan Kelnhofer, allowed 2 scores by the opposing team. As the game progressed and his team was down 4 - 0, the Anacondas began to rally. With Ryan as center forward and midfielder, he was able to make 4 GOALS!!! Unfortunately it was not enough to secure a win for his team. The final score was 6 - 5. What amazing effort by my RCK and the entire Anaconda team!! All were happy that the team did not give up and that they continued to push and try for that victory.

Parents of #10, were unable to comment because they were searching for their popped buttons caused by bursting pride at their son's amazing effort.

FYI, Maggie and the Hawks had the weekend off, but have been mentally focused on kicking with the laces and aiming at the goal in order to score!!

Anyone interested in watching next week's games...Saturday Oct. 7th you can watch Maggie and the Hawks at the Fischer Building at 9 a.m. and Ryan and the Anacondas at Underwood at 10:15 a.m.
