Well, how do I look? I remember when this was taken, Dad took it, it was Christmas time, and you can't see it but the knees on my white tights are absolutely filthy. Why do I remember that kind of stuff????
It is to avoid spam...but I didn't know that spam was a problem with comments. The blog expert A.K.A. Lindsalee Magindsalee will have to answer that one...and who knows if she'll ever read these comments????
You do sometimes get a lot of comment spam. Like suddenly six comments that say, "I enjoy reading your blog. I thought you might be interested in these discount prescription drugs! Check out the link!" It's not harmful but it is kind of annoying.
If the nonsense word typing is MORE annoying, I could take that off for a while and see what kind of spam gems we get.
Lots of times spam comes from robots who know how to look for places to post their information. They can't read swirly writing though, so the nonsense word ensures that it's a real human being posting the comment. They do it also on services like Craigslist to make sure that all the postings are legit. Like this one: http://chicago.craigslist.org/fur/186942621.html Want to buy a dresser???
I don't really want to hear what comments a robot would add to our blog, but I SURE would like to see what it looks like, that is if it's smart enough like us to post it's own picture! Yeah, try to outsmart us, you inferior peabrain! We are way smarter!!!!! HA!!!

How did you get the picture in the comment section? Please, tell me, and I will be forever in your debt, or until I forget. How? How?

You were such a darling, sweet child...what happened?? Ha-ha. How old were you? I see Leslie for sure. What an angel (with dirty knees!!)

I was 6 years old, and the only way I know that is because they put dates on pictures in the olden days!!! It was Dec. 1964.
(By the way, why do we have to enter the nonsense word each time we post? I can't for the life of me figure out the purpose of that.)
